Footsteps To Destiny 2022

We went camping at Mapesu first. There was a huge, beautiful baobab tree which we sat under and had sessions with Pastor John, and ate food.
Then we went to the Kruger second, where we had amazing fellowship under the stars and saw a lot of animals in the day.
From there we went to Manyeleti third. We had some great animal sightings there, and The fellowship was just as great.
Last but not least, we went to Merry Pebbles. Had lots of fun there. Some good revelations came while we were there as well.
I really appreciated going on the trip with the people that were on the trip. I was only in MiXchange for two weeks before the trip and the trip helped me tremendously to know the other people better and how they flow. It was a life-changing trip for me and I wouldn’t change that for anything.
Chariots Of Light Trip To Merry Pebbles 2022
Soul winning :
Brother Bill told us that he went to a garage to fill up his motorcycle and he saw a man that was walking with a limp. He walked up to the man and said hello and asked what
happened and the guy told him that he fell of a roof and shattered his knee. So they chatted and Brother Bill asked the man if he knows the Lord, and the man said yes. Brother Bill asked if he can pray for him, and the guy said yes. So they prayed and Brother Bill touched the guy’s knee and God reconstructed the knee right before their eyes. And so the guy and three other people were saved that day. This is not my own testimony but I trust that I will have one soon.
Relationships :
At night we would be around a shared fireplace. At times when I was the one braaing I would stand between Thandeka and Tommy. Tommy showed me some tricks when braaing, and the three of us just had a nice conversation.
Sessions :
There is a lot about the sessions that stood out, but what really stood out to me was the point “ If you want to have all of God you have to take all of God to the world”. At that moment the coin dropped and the scripture of John 3:16 came to my mind of God so
loved the world, that He sent His only Son. Sometimes you get so focused on other things that that fact moves to the back of your mind and you don’t think about it. God so loves the world that He sent His only Son to die for our sins and through accepting Jesus we are made sons of God. God will use us to spread His Word. The choice is still ours, are we going to take that step of being led by the Holy Spirit and go talk to the person that
the Holy Spirit tells us to, or are we going to be confined to our comfort zone?
My first time riding on the back of a road bike :
We were packing up camp as M.P. and Izaan came to me and told me I can ride on the motorbike with him after we stopped at Milly’s. We stopped at Milly’s and got something to eat and drink. We climbed on the motorbikes and the wind was really rough. As I got used to the wind the ride was amazing. You feel so free.
Orientation Trip to Mooikraans Farm 2023
-Highlight of the trip:
We went to Mooikrans farm for the orientation trip. It was just beautiful with all the animals like the horses (that was the main attraction), cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, etc. The place itself was also magnificent, and with so much to do we did not sit still for long. If we didn’t learn about the animals while working with them then we would be riding horses, going through obstacle courses, sessions with Pastor John, or making food for all the people while having fellowship with everything we did. Learning new people and just having a flow with everyone there. For me the whole trip is a highlight from start to finnish. Every moment was so amazing and meaningful that I learned something different from every situation.
-Encounter with God:
My encounter with God was not a specific moment, but the whole trip. Before we went on the orientation trip numerous things happened that my mind was so busy with that sometimes I would zone out or react according to the things that’s going on in my head and not the situation that I’m in at that moment. That bothered me because I knew that was not the way I needed to operate. The first morning that we were there feeding the farm animals I just felt a peace that goes beyond understanding. Every time my mind would get loud the peace of God came on me. Even now when my mind gets busy I would just take a deep breath and seek the peace from God again and He never disappoints.
-Comfort zone challenged:
To focus more on the fellowship with people was challenging for me especially in that environment. Where I usually would work fast and diligently, now I need to focus on the people and have conversations with them as well as work. Sometimes the work would take longer and then I need to remind myself that it’s good to focus on the fellowship as well even if the work takes a little while longer.
Cullies to Dullies 2023
Cullies to Dulloes was a really great experience. Having sweet fellowship with the people around you and having a physical challenge added to that was certainly a good learning curve.
On the first day when we came to seven kilometers we were tired as we stopped for a water break we struggled to get going again. We started running a few seconds later and we started praising the Lord. Some of us were ahead whereas others were at the back. Randomly we started shouting and praising the Lord and we received so much energy from that that we could continue with joy helping and supporting each other.
On the second day, I learned so much from the things that happened. Serving even if things get very difficult. Putting a smile on your dial because you know that other people are experiencing difficulties as well. Keeping a grateful heart to keep the darkness away.
In the end, I would do it again with no doubt about it. I did a 10k and would really like to go further than that next time. Maybe 15k….
Banks II Bush
2024
The tree words I gave to describe Banks 2 Bush for me personally was:
- Powerful
- Growth
- Relational
Banks 2 Bush was all about my heart condition for me. I was a supporter for this trip and it was different compared to our other trips in the sense that it had a spiritual component to it, but the physical components, which were cycling and serving, were more in your face than the other trips. I had to be more aware of the fact that I don’t want to be consumed with the work and the responsibility of it all, but concentrate on the relational and spiritual aspect of it.
I was super excited when they first called me into a meeting about Banks 2 Bush too tell me what my role would be, which was to work closely with Otto for the preparation of the trip, and for the actual trip I would work with Hein and Liesl on camp management.
The preparation time helped me to grow a lot. I was not used to planning everything down to the last detail and that was exactly what Otto and I did to try and plan for everything we might face on the trip. The actual trip was more my flow. I enjoyed working with Hein and Liesl and all the teams I was apart of. There were times we needed to problem solve and times we needed to develop grit, but I enjoyed it so much to be in that space of serving and having fun like what we did on this adventure.
Two of my favorite parts of the trip is:

The cooking team I was a part of. Sometimes we would get up early in the morning to make breakfast and clean up then later in the day when we’re at a different location make dinner or w
e would be the ones making lunch. Even though we were busy and it was tough sometimes we would always make it fun with jokes and enjoy ourselves.

This is the heading
I really enjoyed being a driver on this trip. It was the first time that I could be the driver of a car on one of our expeditions. The routes had such beautiful scenery and we had such good conversations in the car as well as playing good music and singing along to the songs.
